Clickable Card
The Clickable Card allows you to create a clickable box that links visitors to another page or website. It includes a heading and optional description, making it easier for visitors to find and access relevant information.
For example, a Clickable Card can be used to direct visitors to information about downloading the NHS App.
Visitors can click anywhere on the card to open the linked page.
How to add a Clickable Card
- Open the page you wish to edit.
- Place your cursor where you want the Clickable Card to appear.
- Click NHS Page Elements in the editor toolbar.
- Select Clickable Card.
- Enter your chosen title in the Card Heading field, for example, Use NHS App services.
- Enter a short description, if required, such as You can download the NHS App on your smartphone or tablet.
- Enter the web address you want the card to link to, for example, https://www.nhsapp.service.nhs.uk/login.
- Click Insert to add the Clickable Card to your page.
How to edit your Clickable Card
Once inserted, the Clickable Card will appear in the editor as a shortcode, as shown below:
You can edit the card directly by changing the information within the quotation marks:
- label – The heading displayed on the card, for example, Use NHS App services.
- description – A short description displayed underneath the heading.
- link – The web address visitors will be taken to when they click the card.
- external – Controls how the link opens. Use yes to open the link in a new browser tab or no to open it in the same tab.
Important: Only change the information within the quotation marks. Do not remove the shortcode brackets, quotation marks or field names, as these are required for the Clickable Card to work correctly.
- Check that the card heading, description and link are correct.
- Click Update to save your changes.
Tip: Clickable Cards are particularly useful for highlighting important services, directing visitors to related pages and making key information easier to find. Keep headings short and descriptions clear so visitors know where the link will take them.
